The one thing that really keeps us stuck

Hello Friends

In all of my own inner work and in all the work that I have done with clients there is a a singular emotion/feeling responsible for almost all subjective misery.

Do you ever get the feeling like everything you do is wrong? You sit down to journal and you can't even answer the prompt in front of you.

You are so scared to make the wrong choice that indecision runs your life.

Like every negative emotion you experience is a direct result of your own incompetence or inherent unworthiness to be…happy.

So many of us are trapped in a cycle ruled by a single emotion that disguises itself as anger, resentment, fear, or any number of human experiences.

That emotion is shame.

I spent the first 22 years of my life feeling unworthy of even being alive let alone of love, joy and fulfillment. I was ashamed to be…me. Constantly invalidating my own experience and perpetuating self destructive habits to justify my own invalidation.

Shame is not just about feeling bad for who you are and what you do. Every thing you experience from the negative and positive emotions, to the happy memories you create, to the hard times you get through… shame steals every opportunity to evolve it can.

Shame creates a vicious spiral where not only do you feel angry, sad or depressed but you feel twice as bad for being ashamed of each of those feelings. The cycle begins and perpetuates itself, creating and feeding off of its own energy supply.

There is only one thing that can stop the cycle of shame and that is acceptance.

Let it go and if you can't let it go then let it be and if you can't let it be then simply let it.

Give yourself permission to take pride in not feeling bad, or wrong, or broken, or defective for how you feel.

Underneath the workings of the shame spiral is the belief that ANY emotion or human experience can be "wrong" and an inherent mistrust of yourself and the universe (they are not different) that you are not exactly where you need to be while being exactly who you need to be while experiencing exactly what you need to experience.

Shame manipulates and mutates the raw experience of our emotions by clouding it with reverberations of the "false self" Rather than feeling the sadness we feel the shameful sadness, rather than feeling the anger we feel shameful anger, rather than feeling human we feel shamefully human.

There is potential and great creative force behind ever emotion and feeling we experience as soon as we start to feel shame for ANYTHING we create a split, cutting off that part of ourselves and as a result… the potential for transformation it held for us.

The next time you experience any negativity or unwanted emotion/feeling ask yourself SEARCH within yourself for the shame. The way you dissolve shame is by shining the light of your consciousness on it. Recognize it for what it is and ACTIVELY practice affirming that there is no need to feel ashamed for any part of your human experience.

With, from and for love.

Hey Friend In this week's letter, I want to share something personal with you a journey through resistance that might feel familiar to your own path. The Dreams We Hide From I often found myself wondering why I chose this life path, or at least, why I'm walking it right now. As a kid who wanted to be seen so badly, I hated myself for that very desire. I learned early that unhealed childhood wounds don't disappear; they just lurk beneath the surface, causing us to limp through life instead of...

Hey Friends! Have you ever felt like there's so much you want to do, so many ideas swimming in your head— and then you sit down at your computer and... nothing happens? Your brain suddenly goes blank. Or worse, it floods with questions : "Which project should I tackle first ?" "Is this even the right thing to focus on?" "What if I spend hours on this and it doesn't work?" Before you know it, 30 minutes have passed while you've been staring at your screen, paralyzed by a decision, scrolling...

Hello Friends, The person you are, or rather the person you believe yourself to be, only exists because of the evidence you have collected. They exist because of the programming, beliefs, thoughts, patterns, coping mechanisms, and cycles that have become the evidence you use to support the person you believe you are. "We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit." — Aristotle The process of healing, self-actualization, or evolution is about creating and...
